    Women having "running away money"

The concept is to have a secret stash of money so that you can move out, cut ties and start a new life if it comes to that. This is only needed if the relationship has gone sour. However it takes time to save so maybe have some stored from the beginning? That means whether we have a joint account or not, we keep a seperate store of money for a rainy day, known only to ourselves.

Is this wrong or just practical? I think that if both partners have 'get out' money set aside then actually the relationship will be more healthy as there is less pressure or feeling of having to stay together due to financial worries. But would you get annoyed if you found out that your husband had a secret stash for this purpose? :o
