Thread: Weddings are too expensive!!

Weddings seem too expensive these days. And there is a lot of expectation to have a good wedding with all the trimmings. Yet it leaves a lot of debt and financial pressure for the start of the marriage. I know of couples where it has really caused a lot of hardship for them and put real strain on their married life. Any thoughts on this? Maybe should just live together?

Its only a bit of paper and has no true meaning now, most weddings have more front that Brighton, I have some friends that have done it on the cheap so it is possible to keep cost down.

My partnership has last longer that some marriages and its a bit late for me to wear white

You just need to honest why you are getting married, is it for you? for her? for a party? to keeping family happy over your commitment to one another?

or tell the world that this is it, the one, the foundations of forever?

It makes me laugh it's called a marriage license, we used to have them for dogs and we have one for the TV
