Is the Big Bang Theory correct?

Is the Big Bang Theory correct? If so what is your description of it? If not what is the correct theory?

I think it is basically a true theory, but the details might always remain a mystery. Still science will uncover more facts abut it as technology improves.

    Big Bang

There is an incredible amount of science on the big bang, most done by astrophysicists.

A basic description of it is a defined explosion from the mixture of matter and antimatter. The amounts of both had to be exacting in order for the universe to expand at the appropriate rate so that stars, planets, and eventually life could form. The margin of error for the exactness of the quantities of both matter and antimatter is incredibly, incredibly small. This explosion defined the laws of physics for our Universe.

There is still a great deal we do not understand with regards to the expansion of the Universe. Some speculate or propose a theory of the existence of dark matter, or matter which possesses gravitational pull, but does not otherwise interact with other matter. Its existence is suspected by the observation of lensing, wherein light is bent as it passes through otherwise empty space, similar to as it would through a glass lens.

There was news of recent experiment done on a very expensive particle collider that scientists hoped would tell us much more: http://sify.com/news/imagegallery/galle ... y=14755811, but I do not as yet know the details of their findings.

    btw, I am no astrophysicist.

    Hi Shadowman,

I think that I understand that it has been proven that the universe is expanding and that galaxies further away from us are moving away faster. Could this be explained by a model that says the universe is continually expanding from every point of space?

In other words subtle matter and/or energy could be entering our material universe from higher levels of existence at every point of 3d space. The subtle matter would then coagulate into dust clouds and stars etc.

In this scenario the universe could have no begining or end in time, it just has always been and it is infinite but in a way expanding. Infinity can be added to but it still has the value of infinity so in a sense it stays the same.

There may be many scientific objections to this scenario and I would like to hear them.

If the universe was continually expanding from every point would not the further galaxies seem to be moving away faster than the nearer ones-simply because there is more expanding space in between?

    Expansion of Universe

As I said, I am no astrophysicist, but as I understand it we now know that the Universe had a defined birth period and we have tracked it back well under 1 second. The rate at which the Universe is presently expanding precludes it from collapsing upon itself. As I understand it, the Universe is doomed to die as a forever expanding cloud of dark, cold dust, if you don't believe in God that is.

There are anomolies in how the Universe is expanding that apparently do not well fit into what we presently understand, hence part of the reason for the theory of Dark Matter. So, to the speculation of matter entering this universe from somewhere else as Dark Matter, I have no idea. Dark matter is a theory at this point, which means we really do not know if it does indeed exist. (Unless that new experiment has revealed some new things, and I think the proving the existence of Dark Matter was one of their objectives).

We are merely trying to explain our observations, well the astrophysicists are merely trying to explain what they observe. I would do well to leave the explaining of their theories to them as it is far beyond my skill set. There are some good astronomy sites where such a question could be posed I suppose.

i believe that the big bang theory is very contoversial because one this is only a theory and they cant explain how the big bang happened and what ever made it happen.....where did it come from???? also you need to put the religious aspect in mind as well, "they" say it just "was" from the sound of it it sounds good but i personally dont believe in it there has to be something...but what? what is the big bang? how did it start? and what started it....how did that come to be and then how did that come to be??? we cant explain so as of now...it just was....as the religous aspect would say " it just was."

Re: Is the Big Bang Theory correct?

The Big Bang theory in my understanding is not such a bad name for something so profound, though its is a Scientific theory. I feel that mankind as curious as it is, will never be able to fully explain 'Physically' how it all happened. As Ive read from the above posts and a little of what I understand myself, there are things which just contradict the finds of, or leave such gaps in the fundamentals of how the cosmos behaves. With an analytical mind scientists look for patterns links and clues, hard evidence to how things are and when they are certain, a theory or explanation comes about. Dont get me wrong every little piece of the puzzle has aided and sometimes unfortunately-like the Atom bomb being invented- assisted mankind along the way, yet we scratch not even a grain of sand worth of how it all came to be. I think that when we think we have answered the question of whether the 'Big Bang Theory' is correct or that we have the answer to life even, we will find that nature will ''throw a spanner into the works' so to speak, and keep our curious minds searching and forever learning of the great mystery that is life.

Do you believe that it is possible that there are already spiritual beings on Earth, ie some rare humans, who know for sure the truth of these things by their spiritual vision?

Re: Is the Big Bang Theory correct?

    Hello James

I do believe that there are some people on the Earth who have a greater understanding of why things are the way they are, but again, from my understanding, perfect knowlegde is a fallcy to the souls of creation. Knowledge evolves and grows infintely. There will always be something to learn in my veiw and so nothing can ever be truely 100% known. But again its just my view.

    Blessed Be

Is the Big Bang Theory correct?

    I would say NO.

There was an initial condition, but its application is far different than modern science has guessed.

I see it more in line with the Taoist and the Kabbalah versions.

I think that the big bang came through a dual or yin-yang conic that intiated creation thus giving us the dual nature of electro-magnetic energy.

The Supreme Ultimate Pole or the classic Chinese yin-yang symbol holds the key to the big bang as well as mans place in the universe.

I own a US Patent that may hold the key to the singularity @ zero=point-creation. I will elucidate on my patent if requested.
